We celebrated the 60th birthday of Prof. Long Xiao from China University of Geosciences. He is one of the top planetary scientists in China. He and his former students are now leading Chinese lunar and planetary explorations in different levels.

On Sept 22, 2023, Mr. Aaron Wan Chi Keung BBS, JP visited our Planetary Spectroscopy Lab in the University of Hong Kong . We had nice discussions of lunar sample studies and finding life on Mars. He was impressed by what kind of space researches we can do in HKU.

Successfully applied for Chang’e-5 lunar samples
My application for Chang’e-5 lunar samples was approved by China National Space Administration on June 26, 2023. They represent the first samples that the Chinese government gave to a research team from Hong Kong. This news was reported by Ta Kung Pao as the headline news and Wen Wei Po.
