We celebrated the 60th birthday of Prof. Long Xiao from China University of Geosciences. He is one of the top planetary scientists in China. He and his former students are now leading Chinese lunar and planetary explorations in different levels.

On Sept 22, 2023, Mr. Aaron Wan Chi Keung BBS, JP visited our Planetary Spectroscopy Lab in the University of Hong Kong . We had nice discussions of lunar sample studies and finding life on Mars. He was impressed by what kind of space researches we can do in HKU.

Wen Wei Po and Ta Kung Pao reported my research of Chang’e-5 lunar samples as headline news on August 8, 2023.

On July 31, 2023, I successfully collected Chang’e-5 lunar soil samples from National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. My application for Chang’e-5 lunar samples was approved by China National Space Administration on June 26, 2023. They represent the first samples that the Chinese government gave to a research team from Hong Kong. This news was reported by Ta Kung Pao as the headline news and Wen Wei Po.

I attended the 1st International Deep Space Exploration Conference (Tiandu Forum) between April 22-28, 2023 in Hefei and gave a talk on “Young Volcanism in the Procellarum KREEP Terrane on the Moon”.

I was awarded Li Siguang Outstanding Student Award on April 22, 2023 (The International Earth Day), the highest award that can be given to a student majoring in geoscience in China.

I attended the 5th Young Scientist Forum of Planetary Science between March 25-29, 2023, and gave a talk entitled “Volcanic History in the Chang’e-5 Landing Region”.

I attended the 1st Chang’e-5 Sample Science Conference on Jan 16, 2023, and gave a talk on young volcanism in Procellarum KREEP Terrane.
